Traveling between her studio in San Francisco and the wilderness of Northern California, Heather Day explores her connection to nature in her creative practice. "Sometimes I think if I can make a mark fast enough, I can emulate that current I saw in a river", says Day, who works to synthesize her impressions of nature onto the painting surface. Water acts as a muse for the artist, though none of her work is directly representational of the subject. The work featured in the video is part of a 2017 solo exhibition in San Francisco.
